Consieering #xmpp again. Have tried #jami
#matrix is pretty good but maintaining it is more hassle than I'd like, and my local users don't really benefit from the #federation aspect much.

Tout à l'heure j'ai eu un soucis de vidéo call sur mon serveur #Matrix. Du coup j'ai demandé à mon interlocuteur d'essayer avec #Jami
Son dégueulasse, pas de rotation de la video, qualité bof. C'était entre un desktop et un smartphone Android.
J'ai abandonné et fait un Google meet. C'est triste quand même. Les apps ouvertes sont vraiment difficile d'accès et fonctionnent bof. J'aurais pu faire un jitsi meet mais ça reste un poil moins accessible pour des vieux.

The odds are low anybody you know will already have it, but if you have friends, contacts, or a group wanting/needing security, you might could get them to come over.

Devo proporre una #alternativa (ovviamente che sia #softwarelibero) per riunioni di ingegneri civili "anzianotti", quindi tendenzialmente smanettoni ma un po' grezzi. Pensavo a #Jitsi, #Jami o #Signal … cosa consigliate?

La app de #Mastodon me funciona muy bien, lanza las notificaciones al momento y va perfecto.

Como instalar Jami en Fedora
Reza la pagina de Jami que "Jami es software de comunicación libre, encriptado de extremo a extremo y privado" así que para utilizarlo en Fedora, debemos seguir los siguientes pasos, debido a que la aplicación no se encuentra en los repositorios de Fedora.

Has anyone used #jami as a messenger in #China, and would be willing to share their experiences?
I'm currently looking for a backup alternative to Matrix that I can use with my co-author if the GFC starts blocking more Matrix servers. The first VPNs we used are also currently unavailable.
