Different Than
For right now, "genAI sucks" is fine. It's probably helpful. Long term, though, we're all helping massive corporations make it better and better.

This time some team will work to build guardrails like "compare your experience as a software entity to what you're claiming and only make accurate statements about your experience..." or something. Elsewhere, teams are coding in rules to prevent hallucinating academic references, to evaluate historical and scientific sources more effectively, etc.

It will get better. Who knows? Maybe someday an #LLM will actually become true-AI sentient, but that's not even an issue right now. Right now the issue is that these models are improving, and will keep improving. I suspect this improvement will justify the investments CEOs (and everyone else with money) are making in them, for many years into the future. As with many other industry tools I predict that the improvements in #genAI will eventually catch up to reality, so in some future time (1 year? 10 years?) we'll have LLMs that really do effectively replace humans, mimic humans, pass all (or most) of the Turing and other tests, and are deeply embedded in our tech and our lives.

I mean, unless we... I don't know... craft some firm legislation protecting incomes, #labor, etc. But (at least in the USA) that seems incredibly unlikely. We can't even agree that #unions should have the right to exist.

(screenshot: h/t @Sheep_Overboard )
