Good news everyone – Faircamp 1.4 is out , and earlier today #faircamp turned 1000¹ !
Feature Highlight: The new site_assets² and site_metadata³ options, allowing you to include custom assets (css, js, images, anything you like) as well as custom metadata (your own meta/link/script/etc. tags that are injected into every page's <head>…</head> section) on all pages of your faircamp site.
Also included: Minified css+js assets⁴ - now enabled in the debian builds, roman-style track numbers beyond 40 (thanks @ice for the report) and a dozen substantial fixes (many thanks to session and @sunny for reporting/contributing to those!).
Lastly, special shout-out to @thurti who previously contributed a draft PR for the custom css functionality!
This release was made possible through the amazing support by @nlnet and the european commission's @EC_NGI initiative - thank you so much!
Faircamp is a static site generator for audio producers, for more information and downloads check out: https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/
And that's all. Cheers everyone for your support! \(^ヮ^)/

Updated my #faircamp to 1.3 and I am so happy with the latest improvements, congrats. Thanks @freebliss! https://www.base.at/faircamp/dorninger/
I finally finished my #faircamp site. Here it is: https://clemenspitschke.de/
So my #fieldrecordings and soundwork now finally have a place to live.
It was great fun working on it and I realy appreciate all the work @freebliss has put into it and I am looking forward to all the development that is still going on.
Next step, getting it into the webring and interact with others. I realy like the concept and community and have some ideas I want to share.
We finally got off our lazy behinds and submitted our #Faircamp site to the Faircamp webring https://faircamp.lorenzosmusic.com/
I'm still working on my #Faircamp website. My server is having unrelated DNS and subdomain issues, but it should be ready soon.
I've added the whole #AUSPEX soundtrack as a single playlist and it's pretty nice (and also kind of weird) to have my whole previous year summed up as nearly 7 hours of experimental #ambient music on a single page.
We are part of the #faircamp community! https://www.base.at/faircamp/dorninger/wipeout25/
Just written a post about how I use #faircamp with the #docker image provided by @n3wjack - in case it's useful to anyone else.
I've tried to explain how I got started, and my workflow for updates, and then deployment to my own server.
https://theargentgrub.co.uk/2025/04/17/faircamp
..and it's already out of date - as I noticed that this post https://post.lurk.org/@freebliss/114348857569968831 means that adding the analytics script should be easier in version 1.4
I've put a couple of things up on my Faircamp today: 'Mod Test' is my first go at doing something structured with VCV, consisting of a Turing Machine based jam and a recording of a thunderstorm I made last year. https://music.bedlamsteps.uk/meanders/2/
'Trance Forever' is a jam that solves the problem of most techno tracks not being long enough: https://music.bedlamsteps.uk/trance-forever/ #faircamp #techno #ambient #vcv #music
En plus du lien précédent (site créé avec #Faircamp), l’album est également disponible sur les plates-formes éthiques @mirlo et Bandwagon.fm!

Missed tonight's #BonkWave remix album release party? Want to hear those golden tunes again?
Fear not, Not Bonk What I Call Wave: Remixes Vol 2 is available for streaming and download from all good purveyors of fine #FairTradeMusic, such as

And the best part? It's absolutely free (as in )!
Time to reveal the two main features for the upcoming #faircamp 1.4 release:
1) Support for site-wide inclusion of custom assets (css, js, images, anything you like) (preview docs: https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/manual_prerelease/catalog-catalog-eno.html#site_assets)
2) Support for site-wide custom metadata (your own meta/link/script/etc. tags that are injected into every page's <head>…</head> section. (preview docs: https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/manual_prerelease/catalog-catalog-eno.html#site_metadata)
These two features are strongly intertwined as you'll see in the docs, but also provide many usecases when used on their own.
I've tentatively scheduled 1.4 for a release next week already, and it'd be very cool to get some prerelease testing and feedback for these features!
Preview builds for Debian, Elementary OS, Linux Mint, Ubuntu as well as Arch Linux and Manjaro are available here already: https://simonrepp.com/faircamp/download.html#preview
For windows prerelease builds please ping me if there is interest/demand.
Yay. ٩(◕‿◕。)۶
Slowly working on my #faircamp site, and slowly updating my website to point to it - very much a work in progress.
Today I pulled the latest #faircamp docker image thanks to @n3wjack for looking after that.
Spent quite a bit of time copy and pasting album text from #bandcamp for an album - Field Recordings Fo(u)r, using #vscodium to make mass editing the text a bit quicker. (liking how the .eno format is fairly #markdown like)
Quite a job, but getting there! https://music.theargentgrub.co.uk/field-recordings-fo-u-r/

I can’t believe how simple and powerful #faircamp is. It has taken a while for me to understand that I can just have this running on the Webserver I use and build the pages there, which is really comfy.
Thank you to @freebliss for the tool and @meljoann for the great documentation.
Now I just need to decide WHAT I want to put there, and some minor quirks that I have with my very unstructured discography.
Thank you so much everyone for the marvelous welcome!
I neglected to say that I also write reviews of alternative electronic music and publish them on my website. If you think that's you, if you think a review would be useful to you or in the very least interesting to read then you can contact me via this blog post.
As the post says, there's no catch!
I'll post links to it when it's available (to bandcamp for downloads and eslastic stage for vinyl)
In the mean time if this sounds like your thing then if you follow me on bandcamp you'll be the first to hear about it's release.
Thank you
There's 3 big things happening over the next few months.
The preorder for #GenerationBlitz4 'Mutant Electro' is out. I've got a track on there that's probably one of my most interesting tracks. I'm honoured to have been included on the first and third of these compilations, amongst some amazing song writers and experienced synthpoppers seems unreal to me.
Trust me, this is a high quality compilation that fans of the Blitz era will love!

Cultural observations around how people host #faircamp - In the list of showcased sites I publish on the faircamp website these are currently the most popular url conventions:
music.example.com¹ (22 sites)
faircamp.example.com (15 sites)
example.com/faircamp/ (10 sites)
example.com/music/¹ (9 sites)
listen.example.com (3 sites)
These make up 59 sites, exactly half of all currently showcased sites.
The other half of the 118 sites in total use either their root domain or a completely unique subdomain/subfolder naming variant.
Fascinating! •ᴗ•
