🕶️ An FPS view with the libre Freedoom 2 dataset + Brutal Doom v.2.1 mod + Zandronum v.3.1. I'm facing a Zombieman, while in the distance an Imp is firing at me.

📚️ Zandronum (contraction of ZDoom, Andromeda and Infernum, ex Skulltag!) is a libre, multi-platform Doom 1 and 2 engine, geared towards multiplayer gaming (up to 64 players). It offers a wide range of game modes and modifiers (Instagib, Buckshot, ...), and is compatible with Heretic, Hexen & Strife games, as well as with the many GZDoom mods and Skulltag mods from which it originates. It supports skins and the Announcer system (an on-screen / in-game announcement / reward system based on player performance), Runes, new weapons and monsters, custom bots, ...

The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki originally released back in 1994 and it's getting a little revival thanks to ZOOM Platform Media / Lee Jacobson with a Steam release due out in May.

Getting menu buttons to work in Artificial Rage. I've been putting this off way to long.

The positioning is still off but at least i can click on them now. Will need to make them change color on hover as well.

🕶️ An FPS view of a dimly lit room where the player (me), equipped with a futuristic rifle, has just eliminated his opponents - of whom only a pile of flesh remains, while he can pick up a box of ammunition (bottom center).

📚️ Rexuiz is a fork and modernization (optimized code) of Nexuiz Classic. It's a free mature, and multi-platform FPS (based on the DarkPlaces engine), oriented towards fast multiplayer games (SP vs IA is also supported) in arenas (e-sport) in Deathmatch. It offers many online servers, maps, game modes (Deathmatch, Capture the flag, Team Deathmatch, Freeze Tag, Clan Arena, ...), and weapons (9, with primary and secondary fire). I really like the installer (which also allows you to update it), the "Cartoon" display option, the ability to play in windowed mode, and to practice solo before entering the multiplayer arenas. A very polished game. Great!

the #shooter genre ages ago lost that title to #fps games and eventually became known as #stg or #shmups. #bullethell crept in there and felt almost definitive to me but looking at #game stores, that name seems to have been redefined as well.
