I'm not a fed, but a subcontractor, and more importantly a generally well informed American. I read your posts, your stories, your fears and heartbreak. I have actually shed tears over many posts here. There hasn't been a single post on here in the past 100 days that hasn't made me think, if everyone could (would) read this, they might think twice about cheering Felon 45/47 and his hateful cronies on. My father was a fed, and he always said that besides the good benefits and despite the crappy pay, serving your country and your fellow Americans made it the best job in the world. He and i are so angry about what is happening, but we are both so thankful to you all for the work you do, the work you did, the sacrifices you make/made. So, thank you.

High 5 and annuity supplement changes
Republicans are screwing federal employees again. The markup for the reconciliation bill will include changing to High 5 annuity computations and elimination of the annuity supplement as expected. But, to make that worse, the changes are effective IMMEDIATELY upon enactment. So folks who planned to retire on or around September 30th per deferral programs will not be getting what they expected, many will lose thousands of dollars a month. Total rug pull.

I've seen many posts getting deleted by the Mods. I understand it's likely because they want certain topics lumped into the mega thread. I understand that's the rule, but seems like many agency specific posts end up deleted, which prevents many from having zero awareness on what is going on within their agencies. Just have to say not a huge fan of mega threads.

Urge your elected officials to vote no on proposed federal benefit tax cuts
I’ve seen a number of posts regarding proposed benefit cuts for feds. Please, I urge you all to contact your elected officials every day until a vote, express your outrage at the treatment of federal employees and urge them to vote no on the proposed benefit cuts. And, before you say my elected officials don’t care/I live in a red state.. know that elected officials want nothing more than to win reelection, and know that even the most red states (looking at you texas) have cancelled town halls, refusing to meet with constituents because of the backlash they are receiving. They will play the MAGA role and deflect, deny, lie… but they are affected. I’m sorry so many think their voice doesn’t matter, but I promise you it matters more than not speaking up at all. It does not hurt us to make calls and write emails, but it will absolutely hurt us if we remain silent.

As federal employee, just can't support ICE or FBI involved in immigration or judge arrests...
I probably have never posted on here as a primary poster (or, if so, I have forgotten), but I am federal worker, a National Park Service employee. One of the few bright spots of Trump's election has been getting to hear on r/fednews from so many more employees of the federal government - so many agencies that I would never directly deal with... DOD, DOE, VA, etc. As many have noted before, r/fednews used to be comfortably boring, talking about which was the best dental plan. Recently, it has been amazing to realize that, even if we do such different jobs, there is such a community between all of us. Literally, this website has been a lifeline, and reading the heart-rending stories of employees who all got laid off and who (God forbid) committed suicide, because of the stress that this administration is putting all of us under actually lead to an incident of shingles for me. I actually had to stop reading r/fednews, because I was crying every night reading every person's stories. I have come to feel such a community for every federal worker, even though I am pretty isolated working at one somewhat remote park. However, I just want to say right now that I cannot support anyone working for ICE or any FBI agents that are basically invoking the illegal will of our authoritarian overlord. Not sure how you go to sleep at night...I had no ill will towards you folks before, but the videos I see of what you are doing is horrific. There is a certain point where you have to decide whether it's better to take the moral high road or submit to authoritanism. The atrocities are mounting (i.e., students, Judge Duggan, people here legally), and I wonder how you sleep at night. At least, I can do that, even if I continue to mourn the continued loss of our federal workforce. Shame.
