Кажется, я нашёл внезапно относительно вменяемый и даже почти нативный клиент для Mastodon-совместимых инстансов.
У него, к сожалению, есть фатальный недостаток: он на GTK4.
Тем не менее, попытаюсь им пользоваться дальше, т.к. от него не возникает ощущения безысходности, которое возникает при взгляде на другие клиенты типа всяких Fedistar, TheDesk и подобных.

Из плюсов - адаптивная вёрстка. Из минусов - хоть и может сидеть в фоне и получать обновления - не рисует иконку в трее - как минимум у меня в Plasma.
Работает как минимум в Linux и Windows.

I want to start on my last read item and than go to the newest one, so I don't miss anything.
But #phanpy pops to the newest message every time I open it.
Is it possible to change this behaviour?
I think the solution from the official mastodon app ist quiet good. It has the options to "load new above" or "load new behind" depending from which direction I scrolled.

Our servers are in Iceland and they are our servers and not some cloud servers. We use them for all Vivaldi services, including things like Sync, Blogs, Forums and Vivaldi Social.
Electricity in Iceland is green. Most all of the power in use is hydro, with a little bit of geo thermal.
We do make use of CDNs for speed, etc., of course.

- CWs will work the same as with sensitive media & CW'd posts.

Auch wenn sich im #Fediverse viel um #ActivityPub dreht und hier durchaus auch eine #Client-Schnittstelle skizziert ist, nutzt #Mastodon eine eigene Client-API, die (zumindest teilweise) auch von anderer fediversaler Serversoftware unterstützt wird (z.B. #Friendica, #Firefish, #Mammuthus).
Diese #API (application programming interface, eine #Schnittstelle zur #Programmierung von Anwendungen) dient Apps und Clients dazu, entsprechende Funktionen auf einer #Instanz durchzuführen. Diese API ermöglicht die Entwicklung von Apps wie #Tusky, #Fedilab & Co.
Man kann diese API auch nutzen, um Konten etwa (teil)automatisiert zu betreiben.
Oder Statistiken zu sammeln... oder... oder... ;-)
Die API ist soweit öffentlich dokumentiert und steht frei zur Verfügung.

Es wird mal wieder Zeit meinen Mastodon Client **Elk** zu promoten! 
Ich nutze **Elk** schon seit Anfang 2023 als #pwa sowohl am Desktop als auch am Smartphone. Und kann ihn nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen!
Elk ist rein webbasiert, wird permanent weiter entwickelt und wird immer besser.
Er ist zwar offiziell immer noch alpha, aber ich hatte die ganzen Jahre nie ein Stabilitäts- oder sonstwas Problem damit!

@ckrypto if@signalapp@mastodon.world wasn't complying with #CloudAct, @Mer__edith would be in jail.
Not to mention even if Signal keeps their "#OpenSource" code updated - which is doubtful, NOONE can actually #verify that it's the code you actually use - regardless if #backend / #Server or #client / #App!
Also if Signal was designed for #security, it would've been #decentralized as #XMPP+#OMEMO and not demand #PII like #PhoneNumbers which oftentimes cannot be obtained anonymously in many juristictions at all!
- Only #MultiVendor & #MultiProvider standards can be secure, regardless if OMEMO or #PGP/MIME.
By comparison, @delta doesn't require any PII, only an #eMail account, and @monocles isn't a #VCmoneyBurningParty but sustainable due to #subscription and they don't even require any personal details for #payment: #CashByMail and #Monero are accepted.

Again: It's Signal alone who have to evidence they are trustworthy, and all I get are "#TrustMeBro!" replies, which means they are not to be trusted.

- Signal as a #centralized, #SingleVendor & #SingleProvider service is inevitable vulnerable to #RubberhoseCryptoanalysis, and #Meredith will break if not doing so means jail for life until she does!
Whereas with XMPP & PGP/MIME #eMail I can layer @torproject / #Tor over it, make it an #OnionService and keep that thing under my bed with a literal killswitch...

Der #NextCloud #Desktop #Client wird beim Hochfahren doppelt gestartet?
Wahrscheinlich hab ich jetzt herausgefunden, warum das nach und nach auf einem Rechner nach dem andern der Fall ist:
Beim #upgrade auf eine neue #ubuntu Version wird der NextCloud Client deinstalliert, wahrschinlich ohne den Autostart-Eintrag zu entfernen. Nach dem upgrade muss man den Clienten manuell nachinstalliern und dabei wird möglicherweise der zweite Eintrag in "Startprogramme" zugefügt.
Vielleicht kann @nextcloud@mastodon.xyz da mal mit ubuntu reden?
