Frantically trying to finish this #NES game for the #ByteOff competition that ends this week. My first song I wrote to put in it was so bad I was thinking it would be better without music, but I'm playing around a bit more and hoping I'll have something passable soon!

I finally convinced my Byte Off IV co-dev (my daughter) to let me at least show some art! I usually do the cover art as an afterthought but it's kind of fun to build off of a base idea that "can't be changed" and figure out the rest after. The good news is it gave me lots of time to think about gameplay, story and sprite organization etc.

I'm deep into planning for my #ByteoffIV entry! Cryptsmasher will have to be put on pause for now but I think I have some good stuff cookin' here.
