(3/3) So please beware, they're shady as heck. :/ Also if you just want to find out more about the technique, there are good descriptions on Reddit.

Also, this is weird to point out since I'm not normally a fan of credit card companies, but I gotta say that Citibank, which hosts my Costco Visa, has given me great customer support in a world where nobody seems to do that anymore.

And their hold music doesn't make me want to plug my ears.

Okay hey friends with #ChronicIllness and folks who meditate or do #Breathwork - please be aware Soma Breath (.com) is not a great place to sign up. I joined last June to learn their breathwork, it wasn't for me (too dysregulating for my tiny woodland creature nervous system) and I left. A couple months ago we realized they were STILL charging us the monthly fee, even though I had unsubscribed and closed my account back in July.

I've disputed charges for the last two months... (cont. 1/3)

Hey lovely beings of the fediverse, I'm a #neurodivergent woman seeking others who have a passion for #breathwork, #hypnosis, and #meditation, and other subjects that might be related. I'm actively working on being able to speak about these things in everyday conversation, both because I'd like to connect with more folks who have at least some understanding of any or all of these things, and in an attempt to teach myself that the world won't end if people don't have that prior knowledge/understanding. To that end, any and all replies are welcome.
PS: I'm also a #writer, and maintain a youtube channel where I post soundscapes and other things, though mostly soundscapes at the moment. That channel can be found here:

To what extent can breathing exercises help microvascular health?

Asking for myself and 20 million ME/CFS sufferers, plus 400 million Long Covid Sufferers.

link.springer.com/article/10.1

SpringerLinkTowards an understanding of physical activity-induced post-exertional malaise: Insights into microvascular alterations and immunometabolic interactions in post-COVID condition and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome - InfectionBackground A considerable number of patients who contracted SARS-CoV-2 are affected by persistent multi-systemic symptoms, referred to as Post-COVID Condition (PCC). Post-exertional malaise (PEM) has been recognized as one of the most frequent manifestations of PCC and is a diagnostic criterion of myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Yet, its underlying pathomechanisms remain poorly elucidated. Purpose and methods In this review, we describe current evidence indicating that key pathophysiological features of PCC and ME/CFS are involved in physical activity-induced PEM. Results Upon physical activity, affected patients exhibit a reduced systemic oxygen extraction and oxidative phosphorylation capacity. Accumulating evidence suggests that these are mediated by dysfunctions in mitochondrial capacities and microcirculation that are maintained by latent immune activation, conjointly impairing peripheral bioenergetics. Aggravating deficits in tissue perfusion and oxygen utilization during activities cause exertional intolerance that are frequently accompanied by tachycardia, dyspnea, early cessation of activity and elicit downstream metabolic effects. The accumulation of molecules such as lactate, reactive oxygen species or prostaglandins might trigger local and systemic immune activation. Subsequent intensification of bioenergetic inflexibilities, muscular ionic disturbances and modulation of central nervous system functions can lead to an exacerbation of existing pathologies and symptoms.

"We are a team of researchers from Humboldt-Universität conducting an anonymous online survey about people’s experiences with #breathwork.

You are warmly invited to take part if you have done at least 1 fast-paced breathwork session in the last 5 years (Circular breathing, Conscious Connected Breathwork, Rebirthing, or similar) and it was led by a facilitator.

Your responses will help us to better understand the therapeutic potential of breathwork."

I'm not suggesting breathwork is going to fix everyone with ME/CFS, CFS and LC, but I *do* imagine it can _help_ everyone who's also breathing dysfunctionally - any/all of - mouth, shallow, fast, sleep apnea etc.

Applied awareness meditations accommodate those with asthma or others who have difficulties when paying attention to breathing.

I strongly encourage anyone who teaches mindfulness or other breathwork exercises to do the same. Feel free to use the following as a template to implement accommodations: appliedawareness.org/stress-re

After a productive afternoon of #DeepWork I’ve called it a day and I’m chilling out before my #breathwork session in an hour. Breath work is one of the things (along with exercise, meditation and journaling) that I try to do regularly to stay well despite having #bipolar disorder. I’m bound to relapse eventually - that’s just being realistic - but I want to put it off for as long as I can
