This grackle really reminds me of a bird from some animated show or movie, but I can't quite place it.

A walk along the sunny canal this afternoon, including coffee at my favourite cafe, a small affair a lovely couple have created in their own garden that backs onto the towpath. They are sooo nice to me when I visit. Today the woman said I was always a ray of sunshine when I came by . Let me tell you, the last time I had been called that pre egg-cracking, I was about 5

Then I got perhaps my best shot ever of a very friendly heron, who walked right up to see me and said hi

Acadian Flycatcher

It’s been quite some time since I captured a photo of a bird that’s ‘new to me.’ This morning, however, an Acadian Flycatcher (Empidonax virescens) made an appearance while Charlie and I were sitting in the backyard. I see the occasional flycatcher, but this was my first encounter with an Acadian. These birds don’t come for birdseed; instead, they seem to be searching for something in the trees or maybe just curious about the gathering of birds nearby.

The photographs I share here aren't as vivid as those in my Pixel gallery. To ensure they load more quickly, I reduce their size and slightly lower their quality. Feel free to take a look!
