Today (the day the world will one day look back on as the inaugural #8TrackTuesday) I present to you with perhaps the trippiest #8TrackCartridge of all time: Todd Clark & The Stars "Deathguard Sampler" from 1976.

Hardly any independent/DIY artists took advantage of 8-tracks during their heyday - certainly, none as noisy, electronic, & weirdly downtuned as Todd. While some of these tracks ended up on a retrospective 2xCD on the #Anopheles label in 2005 (including his twisted version of #TheRollingStones' "2000 Light Years From Home") otherwise we're left guessing as to why the hell Todd chose this format on which to issue his first home recordings. But we're so happy he did! This is the glistening jewel in the melted heap of plastic coating the backseat of your dad's beat-up Chevy Impala.

A mosquito swarm is composed of 1 to thousands of males #flying in loops next to a visual marker, waiting for the #flighttone of an incoming female. The recorded species swarms at dusk till they can't see the marker anymore (field) or till they get tired (lab).
