A recent toot by @JordiGH prompted me to dig up Lockhart's Lament again: . The last time I read it, I was still doing some manner of teaching work. It seems my feelings about this essay haven't changed since then.

@JordiGH He eloquently said what I felt, but couldn't put into words back then.

@tpfto When I was teaching I felt like such an ogre teaching to kids who didn't want to be there at all what I knew would be completely irrelevant to them after they left that class.
