Puzzle: put content warnings on solutions, please! 

I have a in the current issue of New Scientist, thanks to Rob Eastaway for xoming up with clearer wording.
(Though that didn't stop my dad from getting it wrong and insisting that the puzzle was incorrect instead of his solution)

@christianp i think the answer is to swap chairs 3 and 5 for a total discount of €24? but i lack a better method for getting this than brute-forcing it 😐

@mlc I don't have a method either. Try working out the maximums for tables of up to 6 people

@christianp You can get a discount of 24 by swapping 3 and 5, but I don't have any tidy or insightful proof why its the maximum.
