@andrewt Finally got around to watching that. Still laughing! Loved the Gilbert and Sullivan rip off 😁

@mmalc

I'm a long-time Tom Lehrer fan, but that's the first time I've heard the Aristotlian version!

@GoatsLive @andrewt

@andrewt did an LLM help you write the lyrics for this?

(I’m joking, it’s pretty funny!)

@andrewt

I wonder if Arthur Sullivan had any idea his tune would be so universally applicable.

@andrewt a banger, a bop and a hit!!! also, you're very handsome and have a lovely voice 😍 thanks for this. would you be willing to share the full chords and lyrics so we can make cover versions? :blobcat_hearthug:

@cairobraga I mean the tune is just the Major General song from Gilbert and Sullivan, although I loosely used Tom Lehrer's piano arrangement for the Element Song, which is available on his website

@andrewt neato, I'll research that since I'm unfamiliar. what about the full credits for the lyrics? I'm aware that some lines came from fedizens replying to your original post. (sorry for being annoying, I just wanna have all the info for when I post my cover on here and I like to properly credit people.)

@cairobraga the only proof from the replies is @texanarchy's, although ofc "mansplain as a service" is a phrase that's been knocking around the internet for a while and I've no idea who coined it

@andrewt

You're no language model but a gentleman and a scholar, sir!

@andrewt good stuff. The blockchain line made me audibly chuckle

@andrewt Sir, you are the best thing on the Internet this year. :11111: :11111: :11111: :11111: :11111:

@andrewt The HP thought terrifies me (though I don't maintain any printers, and at home I have a LaserJet).

@andrewt Wonderfull!
I wonder what you could have in the second act?
Perhaps something like:
“Let’s, deny, it’s piracy,
Claim the content was all for free”

@simonf I fear you overestimate my knowledge of the rest of the play

@andrewt @simonf Ahhh. Apologies, don’t let anyone know but I’ve been in 2 amateur productions.

It is a brilliant satire, still relevant today. See it if you get a chance.

@andrewt @simonf🎶Away to the cheating world go you,
Where pirates all are well to do”

@jtphillipsmnr it's just the modern major general song from pirates of Penzance, I'm sure there's a guitar tab knocking about. (Specifically the version I used was the Elements Song arrangement from Tom Lehrer's website)

@andrewt yes thanks, I meant to edit that I meant this as a joke. 😅 (then I forgot)

@jtphillipsmnr haha well enough people have asked for real so 🤷

@andrewt your song is stuck in my head now 😂

@andrewt @RussSharek

Quoth Homer Simpson: “It’s funny because it’s true”.

@andrewt Please expect a call from our local SFF con's music GOH coordinator.

@andrewt hey, you had the foresight to chuck the "yet" in ;-)

@thamesynne oh yeah, it wouldn't have been funny if there was any chance at all that it wasn't going to happen
