Is #BlackPanther that good or is Hollywood just trying to praise themselves over and over about how great they are for making a film with mostly black actors?
@JordiGH It's pretty good, but I don't know if it's Best Picture-good. I don't know if popcorn movies can EVER be Oscar-worthy for plot or acting. 😄
@JordiGH to be honest, #BlackPanther is pretty damn good. Wonder Woman was moving but it wasn't like, amazing -- without the gender angle it was a slightly better than average DC movie.
By contrast, Black Panther was pretty amazing, particularly the costuming and set designs, which I think does deserve awards regardless of the groundbreaking nature of the demographics.
Also, superhero movies deserve way more recognition than they get.
@JordiGH It is very, very good and represents a genuine cultural moment. However, I have no opinion about the Oscars.
@JordiGH the visuals were incredible, and the actors were top-form... but the plot was still predictable and formulaic.

@JordiGH Pretty much a circlejerk. For a while after its release, the news went crazy agreeing about how a sequel "must be directed by a black guy". Or something like that.
